If you do choose to remove the sissy bar, *do not* try to do this without removing the fender struts first!
Furthermore, I'd slide cardboard or something similar between the fender struts and the fender to protect the paint. (Also, I'd cover the seat)
I *destroyed* my rear fender thinking the sissy bar would just slide out. Visit my website to see how my fender got wasted. Learn from my stupidity.
Can't comment on the saddle bag supports, sorry.
